THE STILLBORN STOAT

In the aftermath of the recent actions undertaken against filehosting sites, there won't be any new posts at this blog for a while.
I want to wait and see how the cards fall once the dust settles before deciding which filehost best serves my needs, or if indeed there's any real future in uploading to filehosting sites.
Perhaps a better alternative will emerge.
I'm pretty gutted that 2 years worth of uploads were wiped out in a flash by the actions of the FBI, but i'll get over it.
Thanks for your continued interest & support, it's much appreciated.
Don't worry, i'll be back in action in some shape or form before too long.
Rawk on,
Bigfootkit

mediafire or sendspace seem to let the downloader do multiple downloads at once. also rapidshare ok but your decision I dont blame you. thanks for all your posts

Sit tight as you say, then resume the good fight.
Most, if not all the bands you share were dead and buried many years ago. You give them life.

I understand why you are taking a break, but please do continue. Use RS, it is based in Switzerland and in our Country it is legal to download shared files. Can't wait for your return. Keep up the good Work.

Hi mate - Live and Otherwise has helped to keep the metal flame alight. I don't think many of the bands you have featured would have a problem with your site - a lot of them would thank you for promoting them. I'll keep on checking in and I'm intrigued by weaselkin's comment. Bring it on! Thanks for everything, Kit. Best wishes, Blofeld

Respect for all your work and efforts to post all the obscure albums.
May the FORCE ( not the FEDS) be with you.
Greeting from the Netherlands (Europe, near Belgium)

Thanks for all the encouraging comments, it's nice to know that what we do here is so much appreciated.
Just for clarity's sake, let me reassure you all that the blog will be back, i am not thinking of quitting.
This is a bump in the road, nothing more.
What i do want to ensure is that i never again find myself in the position where 2 years worth of work can disappear over night.
That was a real sickener.
To this end, i'm gonna spend a month or two looking into the best ways to bring you the vintage voltage.
I'm thinking initially about those fileserving sites which upload your files to multiple sites at the same time.
Perhaps some of you have used them before and could recommend a few to check out?
Any suggestions?
So hang tight in the meantime, and look for us to return in mid or late March.
Thanks for all the support and good wishes,
all the best,
Bigfootkit

Looking forward to seeing you back in action. A lot of great sites just closed up shop, but glad to see the vintage metal will still flow! Regards!

Hi it's Bigfootkit again, i'm trying out an upload to Mirrorcreator to see how it works out for me & also for all of you.
The idea is that the site provides multiple download mirrors, so that you can select the filehost which best suits you for your download.
Geographically, depending on where you're located, some sites are better to d/l from than others, some of you may already have premium access to one of the hosts, so this way you can choose where you wish to d/l from.
You get a choice of nine different links, so hopefully there will be at least one to suit your needs.
Could you do me a favour and try out the link to see if it works well?
Let me know how she handles on the download end, as (if it works okay), the upload speed is pretty respectable.
The link is for:
MURDER BY DEATH – Like The Exorcist, But More Breakdancing (USA-2001)
It just happened to be sitting on my HD rar-ed already and don't worry it does not represent a new musical direction for the blog, although some of you might dig it anyway.
Here's the link:
http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/L4SHLWQP/murder_by_death_-_like_the_exorcist_but_more_breakdancing.rar_links
Please let me know how she handles.
Best wishes,
Bigfootkit

I apologize on behalf of my country for its continued ham-handed tactics in dealing with the Online Age :-( Some of you may be interested to know that, in the recent round of site closings targeting sites that stream live sports events, the USA is using Homeland Security operatives for their sting operations. Really. I feel so much safer living here knowing that Homeland Security busted some guy in Michigan who was letting people watch Pro Wrestling events online..... the world is a strange place :-/

Hang in there 'Kit! Re: your mirror, mediafire worked fine. "Like Exorcist but with more breakdancing" huh? I just hope it has enough cowbell :-)
